π‘ Core Idea
Thazh is a biodegradable sanitary pad made from banana fiber, designed to address two pressing challenges:
- Menstrual hygiene access for all
- Environmental damage caused by plastic-based sanitary products
Itβs a 100% natural, affordable, and compostable sanitary pad that supports womenβs health and the planet.
π€ Why We Chose Thazh
1. A Need Thatβs Personal and Universal
- Lack of access to affordable and safe sanitary products
- Social taboos that make menstruation a silent struggle
- Health issues caused by plastic-based commercial pads
2. Environmental Responsibility
- Most commercial pads contain 90% plastic and take 500β800 years to decompose
- India discards over 12 billion pads annually
- We use banana stem waste, turning it into a solution
3. Business Model
- Uses locally available materials
- Employs women in rural areas
- Low production cost, easy community-scale sale
